Hidden Gems #2 - Memo from Turner by Mick Jagger

Ok the 2nd instalment in our series of hidden classic tracks may not be that obscure but its definitely not as well known as it should be. Memo from Turner is a solo Mick Jagger record from 1970, which features in the soundtrack for Nic Roeg's cult film Performance. There are a few versions out there, but the Performance soundtrack version really is the only version to seek out. Classic Jagger vocals, a killer Jerry Scheff bassline and some of the finest slide guitar playing from Ry Cooder. What more can a music lover ask for? This song deserves to be as well known as Brown Sugar, Gimme Shelter and all those other classic songs by the Stones. Please note that the youtube clip is from the film and includes some annoying dialogue during the song, which isn't in the recorded version of the song. That minor irritation aside, we're sure you're going to love this song.
